LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel which is widened in visual field angle, is stabilized in very small liquid crystal domains, is annihilated of orientation defects at the impression of high voltage and has a good display grade free from a gritty feel without subjecting the panel to a rubbing treatment. SOLUTION: Very small unit liquid crystal cells 110 internally having liquid crystals 107 are enclosed by approximately perpendicular high polymer walls 108 and are formed between glass substrates 101 and 102 provided with transparent electrodes 103. The liquid crystal molecules existing at the boundary between the glass substrates 101 and 102 are oriented at random in various bearings. The liquid crystals 107 are composed of a nematic liquid crystal material having positive dielectric constant anisotropy. The average diameter parallel with the substrate surface of the unit liquid crystal cells 110 is set at the thickness (d) of the liquid crystal layer or above and the thickness (d) of the liquid crystal layer is set at 1 to 5μm. As a result, the production of the liquid crystal display panel is made possible without subjecting the panel to the rubbing treatment. The liquid crystal display panel which has the wide visual field angle and has the excellent display grade free from the gritty feel is obtd.
