PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline secondary battery with high utilization factor of a positive electrode and high discharge capacity. SOLUTION: An alkaline secondary battery has a positive electrode 2 prepared by filling paste containing nickel compound particles acting as an active material in a current collector, a negative electrode 4, and an alkaline electrolyte. The surface of each nickel compound particle is covered with a layer comprising cobalt oxyhydroxide particles having a particle size of 1μm or less. |
