<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To melt and recover the nonferrous metals in steel scrap contg. nonferrous melts in low melting nonferrous molten metal and to make the steel scrap usable as a raw material for steel making by vibrating a refractory perforated vessel housing the steel scrap into the melt of the low melting nonferrous metals. SOLUTION: The iron and steel scrap 13 contg. the nonferrous metals, such as Cu and Sn, is put into the cage vessel 14 which is formed of a heat resistant material to a blind cylindrical shape and has permeable small holes 14a in the bottom and flanks and is immersed into the molten metal 11 of 650 to 1,050 deg.C of the low melting nonferrous metals, such as molten Al, in a refractory melting vessel 12. A handle 14C mounted at the cage vessel 14 is vertically and longitudinally vibrated by the effect of a crank shaft 15a rotated by a motor 15b to put the molten Al 11 into and out of the inside of the cage vessel 14 from the small holes 14a, by which the molten Al is brought into contact with the iron and steel scrap 13 and the nonferrous metals, such as Cu and Sn, included in the iron and steel scrap 13 and melted and separated. The iron and steel scrap free from Cu, Sn, etc., is effectively utilized as the raw material for steel making. The Cu and Sn melted in the molten Al are separated from the Al and are effectively recovered as the nonferrous metals.</p> |
