<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance yields when a film is regenerated in a vacuum and to provide the regenerated film with no pinholes therein by automatically grinding the formed film, such as an antireflection film with which the front surface of the face panel of a CRT is coated. SOLUTION: A CRT is held in place on a CRT mount 14 while a formed film on the surface of a face panel faces upward, the CRT is allowed to slide one-dimensionally along a frame 13, and a polishing tape 10 is attached to a polishing head 9. The formed film such as an antireflection film is automatically ground as the polishing tape is transferred and the polishing head is oscillated by an oscillation means 28 so that it moves back and forth on the surface of the face panel.</p> |
