The invention relates to a rack 8 of adjustable design for hanging up objects 1 such as clothes or the like and to a method for hanging up objects. The rack comprises a first wall part 12, which is designed to be adjustable as a part of a domestic fixture, for example in a door opening 9. A second wall part 10 is adjustably fixed to the said first wall part 12 so that in a first working position the said first and second wall parts form an integrated object, such as a door 8 and so that in a second working position a space 14 is formed between the said first and second wall part for accommodating the object 1.
