A divisible box is formed from two independent boxes 10, 11 secured together by a tie-strip having a tear-strip 21 secured to it to facilitate separation of the boxes. The tear-strip 21 consists of a thread or threads adhered to the underside of the tie-strip. The tie-strip has cuts (24) which form a gripping tongue, Fig. 5 (not shown). The outer flaps 13, 17 of the boxes 10, 11 are cut away in the region of the tear-strip, Fig. 2 (not shown), and the tie-strip is secured to the underside of the flaps 13, 17 by adhesive or staples. In an alternative embodiment the flaps 14, 19 are secured to the tie-strip (30), Fig. 6 (not shown), the bottom closure flaps may also have a tie-strip. The tie-strip may have a width equal to the width of the boxes. |
