A half pixel motion compensation circuit in an image decoder is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a differential pulse code modulator(100) for quantizing a difference signal between a present signal and a previous signal and modulating the quantized signal; a memory(200) for processing a data related to a motion vector from the differential pulse code modulator(100); and a half pixel motion compensator(300) for processing a half pixel motion compensation with a horizontal direction or a vertical direction or both directions using the output from the modulator(100) and the information provided from an encoder to provide it to the modulator(100). Since this apparatus utilizes a half pixel, the quality of image is increase. |
