<p>An apparatus (5) for detecting the possibility of transfer of material through a protective barrier (1) between a worker (3) and an external object (17) and warning the worker (3) of that possibility is provided. An electronic leak alarm module (5) is electrically connected to the worker (3) and to the external object (17). When the electrical resistance (1, 25, 29) between the worker (3) and the external object (17) decreases below a predetermined level, indicating the possibility of a transfer of material between the worker (3) and the external object (17), an alarm is activated. As the resistance decreases further below the predetermined level, the alarm is varied to indicate that the possibility of material transfer is increasing.</p> |
