Machine tool motor spindle drive

The drive has the shaft (12) of the spindle (3) supported in a spindle housing (1) via a pair of roller bearings (5,6), with the shaft end (13) carrying the rotor (11) of the electric drive motor. The spindle housing is combined with a further housing (24) in which the electronic drive and regulation components for the electric drive motor are contained. Pref. the stator (7) of the electric drive motor is enclosed by an annular mantle (22) sealed against a cooling mantle (16) via end seals (23).
