Needle closure valve operating arrangement, esp. in hot runner channel of injection moulding machine

An arrangement for operating a needle closure valve in injection moulding equipment, esp. in a hot runner channel of a plastics injection machine, comprises a needle (11) moving between open and closed positions in a polymer flow channel and actuated by a operating member (17). The needle (11) moves along an extended end section (9) of the flow channel (7) and is connected to the operating member (17) by a flexible member (15) moving without play in a guide channel (27) between the needle and operating member and transferring an applied force to the closure needle. At the needle end the guide channel (27) has a straight section longer than the needle travel between open and closed positions for aligning the flexible member (15) parallel to the needle (11) movement. The flexible member (15) is connected to the needle (11) on an extension of a line passing through the C of G of the needle so that the applied force is parallel to the needle movement.
