The device has an optical conductor for an optical signal transmission between at least one optical transmitter (1) and at least one optical receiver (2), associated with relatively movable components. The receiver is associated with an optical conductor (3) with a shorter length than the path length to the optical transmitter. The transmitter has at least two transmission elements (4A,..4D), with light from at least one of the elements fed to the optical conductor.
