The afterglow eliminating apparatus from a television receiving set comprises a power-off signal detecting unit for detecting an input of a power-off signal from the TV receiving set and a switching unit for bypassing a control signal applied to a color IC to a ground when the input of the power-off signal is detected in the power-off signal detecting unit, wherein the afterglow eliminating apparatus operates the switching unit prior to the operation of the power-off in its power-off, thereby removing the afterglow represented on a CRT(Cathode-Ray Tube) in powering off the TV receiving set.
