The measuring system has a scanning system (14), arranged in a suction air line (12). The scanning system has an inherent sensor response time constant, in order to apply a low pass filter to the output signal. A first filter stage (54) is coupled with the scanning system output. The first filter stage is a high pass filter with a first filter time constant, which is essentially the same as the sensor response time constant, to give a HP filter output signal at the first filter output. The first filter stage compensates for inaccuracies in the output signal, caused by the inherent sensor response time constant, if the air flow amount, which flows through the scanning system, pulses cyclically in time cycles in the order of magnitude of or less than the inherent response time constant.
