An optical switch comprising a first input wave-guide (12) and a second input wave-guide (14), a first output wave-guide (16) and a second output wave-guide (18), as well as a controllable switching device whereby, as desired, the first input wave-guide (12) can be connected with the second output wave-guide (18), and the second input wave-guide (14) can be connected with the first output wave-guide (16) or else the first input wave-guide (12) can be connected with the first output wave-guide (16), and the second input wave-guide (14) can be connected with the second output wave-guide (18). The switching device comprises two cross-connection wave-guides (36, 38) and two loops (26, 32) or two other connection wave-guides (82, 90) that are bowed, as well as four couplers (42, 46, 52, 56) or four more couplers (84, 86, 88, 92) in which a light-wave blocking state is produced. |
