Transformer cooling circuit inhomogeneity detection system

The detection system allows continuous detection of inhomogeneities within the cooling circuit using an ultrasonic transmission/reception device (SEE), associated with the cooling circuit, for transmitting an ultrasonic signal into the latter and receiving a corresponding ultrasonic echo signal from it. The received ultrasonic echo signals are fed to an evaluation stage (AE), for evaluating the signal amplitude and waveform. Pref. the ultrasonic transmission/reception device has respective ultrasonic transducers (USW1,USW2) for transmission and reception of the ultrasonic waves, with their active surfaces lying parallel to one another.
