A apparatus for a camcoder which can simultaneously dub background sound while the recording operation of the camcoder is operated is disclosed. The apparatus includes a key input part(26) for selecting a background sound and an inserting type of that; a microcomputer(19) for performing an inserting control of the background sound according to the inserting type selected by the key input part; a memory part(21) for memorizing the background sound and outputting data of background sound under the control of the microcomputer; a parallel/serial converting part(22) for converting the data of background sound into serial data; a data buffer part(22) for temporarily memorizing the serial data; a D/A converting part(24 and 25) for converting the data of background sound into an analogue signal; and a mixing part(17 and 18) for mixing the analogue signal with a signal from a microphone.
