The installation for generating nuclear energy consists of a reactor pressure vessel (4) in a containment (2). A storage unit (20) is located in the containment, in order to absorb hydrogen from the atmosphere inside the containment. The storage unit is pref. located at the top of the containment and pref. consists of a hydrogen absorbing metal.
