Method for producing rollers covered with layers of elastic silicon-based material comprises: (1) placing a cylindrical supporting structure with perforated peripheral surface and coverable with elastic material on a machine; (2) introducing elastic silicon-based material in the fluid/semifluid state inside an internal cavity of the supporting structure which is made to rotate about its own axis; (3) rotating the supporting structure rapidly, causing the material to pass by centrifugal force, from the internal cavity of the structure to the outside surface through its perforated surface for forming a single/multilayer covering with the material; (4) heating the obtained covering at a low rotation rate of the supporting structure; and (5) removing the covered cylinder from the machine.
