Rattan spring round metal core

A heat-conducting metal moulding (1) e.g. of Cu or Al should be hollow and has outside thread ways (1a) on which a spring of natural rattan can be produced in a single pass (2) by inserting the rattan now softened in water for easy forming. The rattan-coiled metal moulding is next placed in a hot-steam oven so that after a lengthy cooling period, the rattan can be uncoiled and used for subsequent spring production. The rattan spring assembly is specially stitched into mattress etc or upholstery pockets (3) and biologically processed for use. The softened rattan is easily shaped to suit the metal thread ways (1a) in situ and is easily removed from the metal core after prolonged cooling period subsequent to the oven drying operation.
