The method for requesting common bus occupying right in a multiprocessor having a main processor 10, a peripheral processor 20, a duplexed common bus 30 which is composed of first and second buses and is commonly used by the main and peripheral processors, and a main process controller 40 for controlling the peripheral processor 20 and the common bus 30, has the steps of sensing the state of one bus which is being used of the first and second buses by the main process controller 40 and requesting the common bus occupying right to a bus matching circuit of the peripheral processor 20 if the state of the bus is normal; if the state of the bus is abnormal, informing an operator of the abnormal state of the bus by the main process controller 40; and after the informing step, replacing the bus of abnormal state by the other bus of normal state by the main process controller 40.
