Multicarrier demodulation with reduction of white frequency distortion

The method involves receiving a signal (31) which is then down-converted (32), filtered (34) and sampled (35) for a phase and quadrature component generator (36). A fast Fourier transform (38) precedes demodulation (310) and channel decoding (314) is performed after correction (311) of the pilot signal between time and frequency filtering stages (316,317). White noise is estimated by interpolation and/or extrapolation for each sample, using prior reference estimates of certain samples. Each reference is previously corrected for each time interval as a function of the variation in distortion since the instant of reception.
