<p>The present invention falls within the sector of methods and plants for seaming lids (5) onto cylindrical containers for food products. The method comprises the following stages: introduction of the lids (5) into a star conveyor (6) by means of which the lids are conveyed into an intermediate zone (11) of variable intermediate pressure and are then ejected by the star conveyor (6) into a high-vacuum chamber (2); fitting of the lids (5) onto the containers only immediately prior to seaming; seaming of the lids onto the containers inside the chamber (2). The lid feeding device comprises a star conveyor (6) configured in such a way as to receive the lids (5) supplied by a separator device (4) at ambient pressure and convey them, inserted individually inside respective cells (7) with which the star conveyor (6) is provided, into an intermediate zone (11) having a pressure lower than the ambient pressure, then ejecting them into a high-vacuum chamber (2). <IMAGE></p> |
