Dicarboxylic acid derivs. of formula (I) are new, in which X = O, S, (CF2)m, C(CF3)2 or CF2-CF(CF3); m = 1-10; R = (a) a gp. of formula (IIa), in which D = O, S or NH; R<1>-R<5> = H, F, CH3 or CF3, at least one of these gps. being CF3 and not more than 2 being CH3 or CF3; or (b) a gp. of formula (IIb), in which D = as above; R<1>, R<2> = H, F, CH3, CF3, CN or NO2, at least one of these gps. being CN or NO2; or (c) a gp. of formula (IIc), in which D = as above; R<1>-R<4> = H, F, CH3 or CF3, not more than 2 of these gps. being CH3 or CF3; or (d) a gp. of formula (IId1) or (IId2), in which R<1>, R<2> = H, F, CH3 or CF3; or (e) a gp. of formula (IIe1), (IIe2) or (IIe3), in which Z = O or S; R<1>-R<4> = H, F, CH3 or CF3, not more than 2 of these gps. being CH3 or CF3. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I) by reacting the corresp. dicarboxylic acid with a cpd. of formula R-H in presence of a carbodi-imide, pref. dicyclohexylcarbodi-imide (DCHCDI). |
