Processing system for creating a virtual dispatch of mail allowing printing, document inserting, and automatic franking

The automated production assembly includes a data-processing computer (10) with a memory for creation of a virtual consignment by formatting and storage of text files and address data. A sheet feeder (12) distributes pages under the control of the computer to a printer (14). Sheets printed with text and addresses are delivered to a paper management machine (16) which assembles them into a physical consignment. The computer performs software encryption regulated by the postal authority for control and recording of franking operations and checking on remittances.
