Workpiece carrier with swinging mount for surface preparation plants

The swinging mount has a hollow-sectioned body (7) which is attached directly or indirectly beneath a rotating plate (2) and closed by caps (8,9) on its upper and lower ends. A cylindrical gear rack (23) with teeth which mesh with a toothed wheel on a shaft mounted towards the lower part of the body can slide axially within it. The workpiece is mounted on the end of the shaft and immersed within the grinder (4) as the rotating plate is lowered. The gear rack slides up or down in response to force exerted on its ends and rotates the shaft and the workpiece through 180 deg . The plate is then counter rotated. Both sides of the workpiece are subjected to the same treatment.
