Hand held tube severing device

A hand-held device for severing flexible polymeric tube, pipe, or tubular extrudate, especially flexible light pipe, reproducibly and cleanly is described. The device comprises a block (14) with holes (20) or openings for holding the pipe and a slit for guiding the severing blade with minimum deviation from its path. An improved design employs a pivot in the block upon which a notched blade in a holder (12) may be mounted to give even more accurate and uniform control of the severing process. <IMAGE>
