CdTe radiation detector for gamma particle pulse processing system

The system has a CdTe detector(1) which includes,a charge pre-amplifier(3) designed to transform the data into analogue pulses; an electronic measuring circuit(4) having an amplitude circuit(10) which collects the amplitude of the pulse at the instant of start of rise time measurement of the pulse, and a timing circuit(18) which ensures detection of the end of the rise time of the pulse. These two circuits are coupled so as to ensure synchronisation and the determination of the pulse rise time. Logic circuits and radio active sources ensuring; sampling of the detector response as a function of rise time, modelling of the charge loss of the detector, and charge loss correction of the detector as a function of the rise time delivered by the measuring means.
