<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a fluid from short-passing by filling a particulate substance in a clearance between an outer periphery of carrier and an inner periphery of tank main body. CONSTITUTION:A clearance inevitably exists between an outer periphery of carrier 2 and an inner periphery of tank main body 1. Therefore, a particulate substance 6 is filled between the outer periphery of the carrier 2 and the inner periphery of the tank main body 1 after a hard net 4 such as a plastic net is attached to the outer periphery of the carrier 2. sintered lightweight aggregate (e.g. inorganic porous ceramics etc.) is used as the particulate substance 5. A biofilm is formed on the surface of the particulate substance 5 similar to the carrier 2, so that this part also acts as an effective reactor volume while a dead part is removed. It is possible to prevent a fluid from short-passing, too by this construction.</p> |
