<p>The elastic sealing strip extending over the seam deflects downwards at the middle as the joint edges move together. Lengthwise beads on the strip edges are secured in chambers (40), having edge strips folded back against them. At the underside each chamber is enclosed by a surface (39) sloping upwards towards the seam (F) and ending at a V-shaped edge (35) fitting in a mating notch (13) in the underside of the bead (6). The folded-over bead edge strip (8) presses against the flat top surface (37) of the chamber, whose bottom surface can likewise be flat, while the angle of the edge can be 90 deg. The top surface (11) of the bead can be parallel to that of the chamber in the installed position, while the top and bottom surfaces (9,10) of the edge strip are flat and parallel. A wedge (20), tapering away from the seam, is inserted between the bead and edge strip at the edge.</p> |
