PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform production of a valve, having good durability and high sealability, while ensuring high productivity, by stably ensuring accuracy and quality in a seal surface of the valve, and giving interchangeability between a valve unit and a valve seat forming unit, in a method of manufacturing the seal surface of the valve. SOLUTION: A tool 30 with spherical shaft is pressed to a valve seat surface 1a of a valve seat forming unit 1, both the valve seat forming unit and the tool are rotated to be familiarized with each other, so as to finish work the valve seat surface 1a by transcribing a spherical shape of a spherical tool part 31 to the valve seat surface 1a. Here, in a condition that an axial center 35 (U axis) of the tool 30 with spherical shaft is diagonally tilted by an angleθrelating to an axis 23 (X axis) of the valve seat surface 1a, the tool and the valve seat are rotated each other.
