PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient and accurate method for determining anα2-plasmin inhibitor for clinical examinations, etc., by mixing and reacting a plasmin-containing sample with a plasmin reagent which contains an excess of a specific non-reducing sugar, and measuring activity of the remaining plasmin. SOLUTION: The objective convenient and accurate method for determining anα2-plasmin inhibitor to be used for e.g. clinical examinations is to mix anα2-plasmin containing sample (e.g. plasma specimen) with a plasmin reagent which contains an excess of specific non-reducing sugar to make the plasmin react with theα2-plasmin inhibitor, and then determine theα2-plasmin inhibitor remaining in the sample. The plasmin reagent to be used is a liquid one that contains 1-60% of a 4-24C non-reducing sugar such as sorbitol, trehalose or sucrose, 0.005-3.0mol of a salt and 0.001-100 units/ml of plasmin.
