PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically find a median line without any operation of operator. SOLUTION: This medical image processor is provided with a circuit 31 for extracting a human body section out of a transverse image, circuit 32 for finding the centroid of the image of that extracted human body section, circuit 33 for setting a virtual median line passing through that centroid, circuit 34 for calculating an evaluated value for the symmetricity of image concerning that virtual median line, and circuit 35 for discriminating the virtual median line having the most satisfactory evaluated value as the median line. |
