<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head having an enhanced inertia moment, and an enhanced hitting feeling. SOLUTION: A golf club head 3 has, at its front surface, an impact surface 3, a thick peripheral rib 5 which circumscribes the outer periphery of a back face 4 at the rear surface of the golf club head 3 and a recess 6 surrounded with the rib 5, and which in a recess 6C in the rear surface of a sweet area in the impact surface 3, the recess 6 is sectioned into three parts 6A to 6C by two intermediate rubs 9 which are laid on opposite sides of the sweet area and are continued to the peripheral rib 5, bridging between the top 7 side and the sole 8 side. A filler member 11 made of a material having a specific gravity which is at least larger than that of the material of which the impact surface is made, is embedded in the part 6C between the intermediate ribs 9.</p> |
