DIGITAL IMAGE DATA RECORDER AND ITS METHOD, DIGITAL IMAGE DATA REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce an original image with high definition by leaving a high frequency component of image data in a prescribed area among areas forming a group in the case of compression image data and eliminating the high frequency component from the other areas. SOLUTION: Image data representing a same object image are recorded on a magnetic tape over 5 frames in a digital VTR. A group generated in 5 frames of images (A)-(E) representing the same object is made up of macro blocks (MB) 1-5 at the same position. Then a high frequency component in the MB among 5 MBs is left and a high frequency component of the image data in the four remaining MBs is eliminated. In this case, the MB in which the high frequency component is left is different from a different image group and the data are compressed so that the data amount is constant. Thus, an original image is reproduced from image data where its high frequency component is all left.
