PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber roll for conveying a continuously annealing plate having small degree of craze due to curing of the surface by heating the surface by the transfer of heat from a heat treated metal plate, avoidance of surface releasing and durability, and a method for conveying the plate using the roll. SOLUTION: The roll is formed of heat resistant rubber, and the rubber roll formed with a spiral groove having a depth of 1mm or more on the surface is used to convey a metal strip after heat treatment. The heat to be transferred from the plate to be conveyed in contact with the rubber roll to the roll is radiated.
