PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reserve video recording of VCR remotely by generating a light signal corresponding to video recording reservation data and inputting the video recording reservation data to the facsimile equipment. SOLUTION: The facsimile equipment is equipped with an infrared-ray emission part 9 for reserving video recording of VCR. The facsimile equipment is so arranged that the light signal outputted from the infrared-ray emission part is photodetected by the photodetection part of the VCR. An operator presses a selection key until the display of an operation display part 6 changes to a display showing a mode wherein a G code is registered. According to the G code stored in a RAM 3, the drive circuit 8 of the infrared-ray emission part 9 is controlled and the light signal corresponding to the G code that the operator has inputted is outputted from the infrared-ray emission part 9. This light signal is photodetected by the photodetection part of the VCR and then the video recording of the VCR is reserved. Consequently, the video recording of the VCR can be reserved from the remote facsimile equipment by a facsimile communication.
