POLYMER COMPOSITION CONTAINING ESTERIFIED STARCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising an esterified starch and an esterified (poly)glycerol, excellent in water resistance, melt miscibility and mechanical strength, useful for various decompositions as a biodegradable plastic material. SOLUTION: This polymer composition comprises (A) an esterified starch (preferably the number of ester bonds contained in the starch is 1 to 3 per glucose unit on the average) and (B) 5-100wt.% based on the component A of an esterified (poly)glycerol and is obtained by blending both the components in a molten state. The polymer composition comprises preferably (C) a thermoplastic resin, preferably an aliphatic polyester and is obtained by mixing in a molten state.
