PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a moistureproof paper absolutely free from wax, having high moistureproofness and recoverable as waste paper. SOLUTION: A moistureproof composition layer composed of a pigment and a synthetic resin latex is formed on at least one surface of a paper substrate to obtain a moistureproof paper. The pigment is a flaky pigment having an aspect ratio of >=5 and an average particle diameter of 5-50μm. The moistureproof composition layer contains a hydrocarbon oligomer and/or an organic resin having a softening point of <=180 deg.C.
