PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffle furnace to use a heat accumulation type combustion device to uniformly heat in a peripheral direction. SOLUTION: When a plurality of heat accumulation type combustion burners each having a heat accumulation body are arranged at a vertical muffle furnace for heating a long steel material wherein a cylindrical muffle 1 to surround a substance 24 to be heated is arranged in a cylinder type heat insulation furnace body to form a heating chamber, two heat accumulation type combustion burners 4a and 4d or 4b and 4c, making a set, which are arranged in a state to approach each other in a vertical direction and have the injection directions, extending along a periphery, of combustion gas and in a reverse direction to each other, are arranged in such manner that the flow of combustion gas of upper burners are run in the same direction as each other and those of the lower burners are run in the same direction as each other. At least two sets or more are arranged at equal intervals on the same height periphery of a furnace wall 2 to constitute a muffle furnace. This constitution prevents breakage of a muffle and lowering of product quality. |
