PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having low bioconcentration property, exhibiting excellent characteristics as a lubricating oil for refrigerators using a fluorinated alkane-based refrigerant or a fluorine-containing ether-based refrigerant which is hopeful as an alternative refrigerant. SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I [R<1> and R<2> are each a 1-6C hydrocarbon; R<3> to R<6> are each H or a 1-10C alkyl, an aryl or an aralkyl and total carbon number thereof is 6-36C; Rf is a 1-25C fluorocarbon (partially substituted) and F/C is 0.6-3.0], e.g. a compound of formula II. The exemplified compound is obtained by dissolving 4,4'-(1-methylethylidene)bis[2-(1,1- dimethylethyl)phenol] and potassium hydroxide into dimethylsulfoxide and putting the solution in an autoclave, replacing the atmospheric gas with nitrogen, heating the solution to 60 deg.C, press-injecting tetrafluoroethylene thereto, distilling dimethylsulfoxide away from the reactional liquid and cleaning the reaction product with 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane and distilled water. |
