PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure desired wideness in a cabin without enlarging the car width as there is no need for the attachment of any shock absorber to a side door and of forming this side door into a shock absorbing structure capable of forming it into a less shock absorber with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A shock absorber 6 constituting a part of a seat back 3 is installed in a side face at the side of a side door 15 of this seat back 3. At a time when an automobile gets a side collision and the side door 15 or a floor 30 is deformed, a shifting means 12 actuates along with this deformation, shifting the shock absorber 6 into a gap between an occupant 16 and the side door 15. With thismovement, any impact being given to the occupant 16 is absorbed by the shock absorber 6. In addition, normally, since a shock absorbing member is set up in the rear of the occupant, it will not be hindered to the occupant at all and, what is more, it will not be obstructed to his sight. |
