PORTABLE RADIO UNIT ANTENNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a whip antenna having a helical tip which can prevent reduction of the substantial equivalent electric length in its expansion mode, can reduce the influence of a human body, and also can keep the high mechanical strength. SOLUTION: A monopole antenna 6 is electrically separated from the lower end part 28 of a helical antenna 10 and then connected again via an insulation part 5. Then a metallic sliding part 3 is located to over the part 5 when a whip antenna 1 is expanded. Both antennas 6 and 10 are connected together in terms of high frequency via the part 3 when the antenna 1 is expanded. In such a constitution, the antenna 1 having a helical tip can have the large substantial equivalent electric length with high mechanical strength in its expansion mode and also can be separated in its store mode respectively.
