PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct highly durable rust-inhibiting treatment without causing deterioration in performance due to high temp. by applying a composition consisting of ethoxypolysiloxane and isopropyl alcohol in a specified ratio, drying the composition and sticking a continuous film having a specified thickness. SOLUTION: A highly durable rust-inhibiting composition consisting of 2.5-12.5 pts.wt. of ethoxypolysiloxane (shown by Sin On-1 (C2 H5 O)2n+2 , where n=4 to 6, and contg. 39-42% SiO2 ) and 87.5-97.5 pts.wt. of isopropyl alcohol is applied on the surface of a body to be treated by a dipping and lifting method, brushing method, spraying method by a spray gun, etc., to form a continuous film. The film is dried at 100-150 deg.C for 15-60min, and a continuous film having 1-3μm thickness is stuck to the body. As a result, the inner and outer faces of the intake, or exhaust manifold of an automobile engine kept a high temp. is coated with the coating film, the method is applied at a place where the environment is drastically changed, and highly durable rustinhibiting treatment is conducted without deteriorating the rust-inhibiting effect, stain resistance, weatherability, etc.
