PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new C2 chiral 1,3-diketone compound, having a high optically active purity and capable of providing complexes with various metals useful as asymmetric synthetic reactional catalysts, etc., by reacting acetylferrocenes with trifluoroethoxycarbonylferrocenes. SOLUTION: This C2 chiral 1,3-diketone compound is an optically active substance of a new 1,3-diketone compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are each H, an alkyl which may contain a hetero-atom, an aralkyl or an aryl which may contains a hetero-atom; R<1> and R<2> are not simultaneously H), has a high optically active purity and provides complexes thereof with various metals useful as asymmetric synthetic reactional catalysts, etc. The compound is obtained by reacting acetylferrocenes of formula II with trifluoroethoxycarbonylferrocenes of formula III in tetrahydrofuran solvent at ambient temperature for 4hr, then adding an aqueous solution of sodium hydrogencarbonate thereto, extracting the mixture with ethyl acetate, treating the extract by chromatography and purifying the extract. |
