PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which a controller having low processing capacity can be employed by providing a hard logic circuit for determining the execution timing of various maintenance operations of recording head independently from a controller executing the recording control or the like thereby lessening the load on the controller. SOLUTION: A maintenance execution timing determination circuit 100 comprising a hard logic circuit counts the timer signals TS from a hard timer 111 by means of a suction counter 112, a dummy injection counter 122 and a cap action counter 132. When predetermined counts are reached, a controller including a CPU is commanded to execute suction of recording head, dummy injection or cap processing. |
