PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject twisted yarn preventing a significant reduction in cord strength after twisting and having high strength and high elastic modules, and useful for usage as rubber reinforcing material such as cord or belt, etc., buy twisting yarn under a specific condition. SOLUTION: Aramid-based fibers (preferably para-oriented aramid fiber) are heat-treated below 100 deg.C or dried under reduced pressure and dried to <=standard moisture regain, preferably <= (standard moisture regain-1)% and then twisted in this dried state. A twisted coefficient T is 1.0-10, preferably 2.0-6.0. The twist coefficient T is calculated by a formula, 0.000348×(twisted number per 10cm length)×(total denier of the yarn)<1/2> .
