PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper hardly imparting unpleasantness to a wearing person due to the rubbing of the contact part of a joining part and the body of the wearing person and well in fitting. SOLUTION: In this pants type disposable diaper, a liquid permeable top sheet 2, a liquid holding absorbent 4 and a fluid non-permeable back sheet 3 are provided, an abdominal side part 10, a back side part 20 and an inseam part 30 are formed and a pair of left and right joining parts 40 are formed by respectively joining and fixing both left and right side edges 11 and 12 of the abdominal side part 10 and both left and right side edges 21 and 22 of the back side part 20. Then, the width of the abdominal side part 10 is made wider than the width of the back side part 20 and a pair of the joining parts are positioned on the back side of the wearing person.
