<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a detecting lever from being deformed or damaged even when a supplied sheet sheaf and a regulating member collide with the detecting lever at the time of supplying sheets in a cassette. SOLUTION: A sheet stack presence state detecting device U4 is composed of a sensor (photo-interruptor) 31 and a detecting lever 32. The detecting lever is rotatable in a vertical direction around a supporting shaft part 33. In the case of no sheet S being stacked in a cassette 2, the detecting lever 32 is rotated counterclockwise by the action of a weight part 36. In this case, a sheet contact part 34 is protruded into the cassette 2 through an opening part 2a of the cassette 2, and a shading part 35 shades an optical path of the sensor 31. The output of the sensor 31 is thereby lowered. The sheet contact part 34 of the detecting lever 32 is of pyramid shape having inclined faces 34a, 34b of anglesθ1,θ2 in a sheet conveying direction and having inclined faces 34c of anglesθ3,θ4 in an orthogonal direction to the sheet conveying direction.</p> |
