<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separating and conveying device and a method capable of correctly separating the sheets one by one irrespective of the thickness of the sheets, etc. SOLUTION: A separating and conveying device is provided with a suction and separation part 6 to suck and hold the first sheet S1 buy the suction force by the non-uniform electric field and separate the first sheet S1, a drive control part 7 to move the suction and separation part 6, a sheet conveying part 8 to convey the separated first sheet S1, and a separation supporting part 9 to support the separation of the first sheet S1 by the suction and separation part 6. The drive control part 7 moves the suction and separation part 6 again in the prescribed stop time after the suction and separation part 6 is moved to the prescribed position in contact with the first sheet S1 from the forward end side of the first sheet S1. The separation supporting part 9 applies the prescribed force between the first sheet S1 which is sucked and held by the suction and separation part 6 and the second sheet S2 in the direction to separate the sheets.</p> |
