PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device capable of improving the arrangement of developing means and securing space below a photoreceptor drum and the carrying path of a transfer material capable of reducing the occurrence frequency of jamming. SOLUTION: Two pairs of developing means 13a and 13b are vertically arranged on the upstream and downstream sides in the carrying direction of the transfer material with respect to a vertical plane passing through the center axis of an image forming body 10 respectively. When angles formed by the vertical plane passing through the center axis of the image forming body 10 and planes connecting the center axes of developing sleeves 131 provided in the upper and lower developing means 13a and 13b arranged on the downstream sides with the center axis of the image forming body 10 are defined asα1 andα2 respectively and angles formed by the vertical plane passing through the center axis of the image forming body 10 and planes connecting the center axes of developing sleeves 131 provided in the upper and lower developing means 13a and 13b arranged on the upstream sides with the center axis of the image forming body 10 are defined asβ1 andβ2 respectively, the relation ofα1<β1 andα2<β2 is satisfied.
